Well I've been there and done that with the whole online relationship thing. At first I must admit that it was kinda scary.. well.. let's start at the beginning.. I met my now ex-girlfriend through my messageboard and we started talking through MSN.. There was an immediate connection between the both of us.. We called each other every couple/few days and then after a few weeks we started to realize that there were mutual feelings there for each other. We were both intimidated by them and couldn't really understand it as we had never met before, but decided to keep chatting and see what happens. Our phone calls turned into numerous times a day and we would constantly sit online waiting for the other one to come - the time difference was horrible. Anyway, a few months later we were utterly in love and were desperate to meet each other. The problem was I lived in Australia and she lived in Canada. At the time I had just been made redundant from my job, which posed as the great opportunity to get my butt to Canada - which I did. Meeting her was amazing. I wasn't really nervous until I was standing by myself at Toronto airport for 15mins! But soon enough I spotted a couple of familiar faces.. To cut a long story short. We immediately hit it off from the second we met. I was in Canada for 6 months, and we both had an absolute ball. I had never thought that I would do anything like what I had done, and I never thought I could've met someone as amazing as she was. I have to say it has been one of the best experiences of my life. For those of you who are doubtful or scared about online relationships, please don't be. I mean, from what I have experienced I would go back and do it all in a second. Things can work out and when they do, it's totally amazing. For all of you who are in a LDR be strong!! It's incredibly hard and frustraiting at times, but once you and your partner are together, nothing else matters. The wait is worth it, and the love you share together is amazing. Good luck with it people!!
I guess that's my two-cents/advice.. Or it was just me rambling on.. heehee
